Durango Events Calendar: Things to do in Durango and Bayfield

The Durango Business Improvement District says it is helping to promote “Noel Nite,” a substitute to “Noel Night,” after Local First pulled the plug on this year’s event. (Durango Herald file)
Highlight of the Week

For all you procrastinators out there, downtown Durango is going to make holiday shopping very, very easy for you with Noel Nite, which will be held all day until 9 p.m. Friday.

This year, Noel Nite is a merchant-led effort; more than 80 businesses downtown have joined forces after Local First called off its annual event because of COVID-19 concerns. But that doesn’t mean Local First is completely out of the loop: The business association will host a “Shop Local for the Holidays” promotion, which runs from Black Friday to New Year’s Day.

As for Noel Nite, downtown merchants will offer discounts and fun throughout the day and into the night Friday.

For a list of participating merchants and for more information, visit https://downtowndurango.org/noel-nite.
