Durango Events Calendar: Things to do in Durango and Bayfield

Highlight of the Week

La Plata County Fair kicks off Wednesday at the fairgrounds with the theme, “Mountain Air, County Fair.” The fair runs through Sunday.

The fair will feature young farmers and gardeners as well as wares and crafts from makers of all ages. Entertainment events will include a talent show at 7 p.m. Thursday, Michael Martin Murphey in concert at 8 p.m. Friday, the Demolition Derby at noon, Aug. 14 and a Family Dance on the Patio at 9 p.m. Saturday.

Throughout the week, a wide variety of art, crafts, baked goods, livestock and more will be on display beginning at 9 a.m. most days.
