Durango Fire Protection District responded to a report of a growing grass fire north of Durango near the Glacier Club mid-morning Saturday.

The call went out shortly before 10 a.m. By 10:10 a.m., firefighters on scene had reported a small controlled burn in progress.

Fire Marshal Karola Hanks said the fire was under control.
