The Durango Food Bank, X-ROCK and C&J Gravel Products will host the second annual Dump Hunger Food Drive on Dec. 13, 14 and 16.
X-ROCK 105.3-FM will broadcast live from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Durango Walmart while community supporters, including the Durango Roller Girls, will fill a C&J Gravel dump truck with non-perishable food items.
C&J Gravel will match all monetary donations collected at this drive. All contributions will go directly to residents in La Plata County who are struggling with food insecurity this holiday season.
The Durango Food Bank has seen an overwhelming increase in the number of households requesting assistance during the last five months. A majority of these families have never used any of the food bank’s three emergency food relief programs. The food bank provides groceries to nearly 12,000 people annually in the county.
No donation is too big or too small, and all are tax deductible.
