Despite the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, downtown Durango’s art galleries are still celebrating fall today (Friday) – some are extending their hours for the day, and others will be open their usual hours and can be visited online as well.

Azul, 781 Main Ave.: A locally owned multimedia art gallery. Featuring local, national and international artists. Jewelry, glass, wall art and functional artwork. Create Art & Tea, 802 East Second Ave.: Create Art & Tea will also have a booth at Durango Autumn Arts Festival with Caryl Goode works.Diane West Jewelry & Art, 820 Main Ave.: West has been designing and fabricating jewelry since 2000, and here you will find her work in the company of 24 artists. Specializing in custom jewelry and wedding rings. Also find abstract, encaustic, modern landscape and ceramic art.Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave.: Featuring Durango Autumn Arts Festival Saturday and Sunday. Earthen Vessel Gallery, 115 W. Ninth St.: The intersection of fine craft and fine art created by local, regional and nationally known artists from small independent studios. Featuring: handcrafted jewelry, pottery, ceramic sculpture, dinnerware, glass, metal, wall art and art-to-wear.Karyn Gabaldon Arts, 680 Main Ave.: Featuring artists Karyn Gabaldon and Gilberto Romero. Gabaldon has owned her gallery since 1980. The gallery features Gabaldon’s contemporary landscapes. The gallery represents more than 40 of the finest contemporary jewelers, sculptors, metal and wood artists, along with a collection of Asian antique furniture.Scenic Aperture, 708 Main Ave.: Gallery will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Scenic Aperture’s Durango gallery features fine-art nature photography of the Four Corners. The gallery showcases landscape and wildlife photography of Durango nature photographer Frank Comisar. Sorrel Sky Gallery, 828 Main Ave.: Gallery will be open until 7 p.m. Featuring artists: Star Liana York and Maura Allen. The gallery represents more than 70 painters, sculptors and jewelers, including Kevin Red Star, Star Liana York, and former U.S. Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell. Studio & Gallery, 1027 Main Ave.: Gallery will be open until 8 p.m. Featuring artist Elizabeth Kinahan’s new show: “Age and Exposure: Travels in Oil on Copper.”Toh_Atin Gallery, 145 W. Ninth St.: Specializing in Navajo weaving, Indian jewelry and Native American arts and crafts. Established in 1957.
