The Durango High School girls basketball team will have to wait to host its first playoff game since 2017, after it was announced that Tuesday’s game against Falcon High School has been postponed because of inclement weather.
DHS Athletic Director Adam Bright said tipoff is now set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the high school.
The Demons were scheduled for a 7 p.m. start Tuesday night at DHS, but because of a storm that hit the region Monday and could drop up to 10 inches of snow, the game was postponed. The National Weather Service in Grand Junction issued a winter storm warning that will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Durango (11-12, 3-5 5A/4A Southwestern League) is the No. 28 seed and heads into the Colorado High School Activities Association’s Class 4A playoffs riding a four-game win streak. Falcon (9-14, 5A/4A Twin Peaks League), located near Colorado Springs, is the No. 37 seed and has lost three out of its last four heading into the playoffs.
