Durango High Noon Rotary to offer scholarships

Durango High Noon Rotary will distribute $20,000 in scholarships this year for these applicants:

Applicants pursuing a four-year degree at a post-secondary college or university.Applicants pursuing an associate or vocational/technical degree.Applicants pursuing a paramedic degree/certification.Scholarships are available to high school seniors graduating from any La Plata County high school or Mancos High School, as well as residents of the Four Corners with a high school diploma or GED interested in pursuing higher education. Children of Rotary members are not eligible.

Applicants should have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Students below the 2.0 GPA may be considered at the discretion of the committee if marked improvement is shown. Consideration is given to academic achievement, activities, community service and particularly to those who demonstrate financial need.
