Durango High School’s Native American Club will collaborate with the Native American Parental Advisory Committee to host a powwow at 10 a.m. Nov. 16 at Durango High School.
The event will commemorate the National Native American Heritage Month of November. This one-day event will include gourd dance sessions, category dance contests and a Native American arts market. During the powwow, graduating high school students and military veterans (regardless of nationality) in attendance will be honored.
The Native Arts Market will open to the public at 10 a.m. The gourd dancing and contest category dancing will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Grand Entry will take place around 6 p.m.
