Durango High School Troupe 1096 to present ‘Urinetown’

Tickets are now on sale for Durango High School Troupe 1096’s upcoming production of “Urinetown.”

A terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom.

Performances are 7 p.m. Feb. 29, March 1, 2, 6, 8 and 9, and 2 p.m. March 2 and 9 at the Durango High School Auditorium, 2390 Main Ave.

Cost is $15 per ticket and are available at troupe1096.weebly.com.
