Durango keeps its postseason push going

DHS boys soccer gets key victory vs. Rampart

The Durango High School boys soccer team kept its run for a playoff berth going in the right direction with a 4-1 win over Rampart on Thursday in Colorado Springs.

Zeb Soignier had his second two-goal game in as many outings, and Nick Aggeler and Ryan Yaseen added goals for the Demons (8-5-1).

“It’s actually really good that he’s starting to get a rhythm at the right time,” DHS head coach Dalon Parker said of Soignier.

Durango scored all four of its goals before halftime to all but bury the Rams (7-8-0), who tallied once after intermission.

“It was really good because all those combinations and all the shooting drills we’ve been doing are starting to pay off at the right time of the season,” Parker said.

The Demons have one game left on their schedule, at 3 p.m. Friday against Coronado in Colorado Springs. Thursday’s win and Friday’s game are games rescheduled from earlier in the year, when torrential rains and flooding hit the Front Range.
