Takes home car, Madagascar trip

Durangoan Randall Ash won the Showcase Showdown on the “Price is Right” during an episode that aired Friday.

He had the most accurate estimate on how much a compact car and a trip to Madagascar would cost. He came within $3,000 of the actual price.

It was a big finish for a game show packed with good luck for Ash.

He was the first contestant to “come on down” at the beginning of the show, then came the closest when pricing a set of two iPod nanos and two Bluetooth speakers, which put him on stage with host Drew Carey.

Unfortunately, he was unable to choose three out of four prizes not priced at $2,200 in the game on the stage.

His luck turned again later when he spun 45 cents then 55 cents on the big wheel, for a perfect score of $1. Contestants with a score closest to a $1 without going over advance. He won $1,000 for the perfect score but failed to collect more money during a bonus spin.

The score, however, put him into the Showcase Showdown, where he guessed closest to win the car and trip.

He did it all in a shirt that read “pick my daughter.” She had a matching shirt that read “pick my dad.”
