Durango man sentenced for stabbing outside Joel’s Bar

Harrison Charles Hill faced assault, ID charges

A 21-year-old Durango man was sentenced Thursday to 18 months at Hilltop House, a community corrections center, after he was arrested earlier this year for stabbing someone outside Joel’s Bar.

Harrison Charles Hill was fighting with an acquaintance around 9:30 p.m. March 7 in the west 100 block of Eighth Street.

The victim ultimately declined to be taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center, but was reportedly taken by friends or family later that night. Investigating officers described the wound as a “cut.”

Hill was charged with third-degree assault and criminal impersonation after he gave officers a false name. He was sentenced to Hilltop House, with credit for 118 days already served.
