Durango Nature Studies to host full moon hike

Durango Nature Studies and Colorado Parks and Wildlife will host a full moon hike at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the bottom of the Sky Steps, East Sixth Avenue and 10th Street.

July’s full moon is known as the “Buck Moon.” During this time of the year, the antlers of deer and elk fully form. Mallory Bauman, wildlife biologist and elementary teacher, will lead the hike. Participants will learn about the deer and elk of Colorado. Treats and games will be provided along the hike.

The hike is free for DNS Members and children younger than 12. Cost for non-members is $10. This is a very family-friendly event. RSVP to Mallory at mallory.bauman@state.co.us (816) 200-9858.
