Durango needs a residential recovery center

My name is Jessey Stiegelmeyer, and I am a longtime Durango resident who loves this community.

One thing I believe Durango is missing is a residential rehabilitation center. I have developed a proposal for such a facility and identified land that could support not only treatment services but also a variety of recovery-focused opportunities.

People are dying from addiction, and the effects ripple throughout our community. We see it in broken families, homelessness and crime. If we want to address these problems, we must give people hope and a place to heal.

I write from personal experience. I am a recovering addict and a recovery coach, and I am willing to do whatever I can to help people struggling with addiction. What I lack are the financial resources needed to turn this vision into reality.

I am reaching out to community members, business leaders and philanthropists who may be interested in helping create a rehabilitation center in Durango. If you, or someone you know, has the means or interest to support this effort, I would welcome the opportunity to connect.

Please text me before calling at (970) 508-6603, as I receive many spam calls and may not answer an unfamiliar number.

Thank you for your consideration. I hope others see the need for this project and will help move it forward.
