Durango Public Library to host Literary Festival

Bohjalian

Durango Public Library will host the 2019 Literary Festival, beginning Monday and continuing Tuesday and Thursday, at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

The keynote speaker will be best-selling author Chris Bohjalian. Some of his standout titles include “Midwives,” “The Sandcastle Girls” and “The Flight Attendant.”

The festival will begin with two special book club events featuring Bohjalian’s “The Midwives” and “The Flight Attendant.”

2 p.m. Monday: “The Midwives.”6 p.m. Tuesday: “The Flight Attendant.” The keynote event will take place Thursday, with an address from Bohjalian, who will speak about his life and work and the role of fiction in today’s world.

There will be a book-signing after.

Maria’s Bookshop will be selling books at the event. A wine and hors d’oeuvre reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. The keynote speaker presentation will begin at 7 p.m.
