Durango Public Library’s Summer Reading Programs begin June 1

Durango Public Library’s Summer Reading Programs for children, teens and adults will run from June 1 through July 29. Register online at

Children and teens who meet reading goals will earn a free book, a lanyard, a day pass to the Durango Community Recreation Center and a chance to win one of two $50 gift cards from Maria’s Bookshop or an Osprey backpack. Additional hours read earns more entries in the grand prize drawing.

Children: Log 10 hours, or 600 minutes. An additional 20 hours earns another entry.Teens: Log 20 hours. An additional 20 hours earns another entry.Adults: Enter each book read this summer for a try in a weekly prize drawing. Participants are also eligible for the grand prize drawing of a $130 Powerhouse MakerLab gift certificate, private tour, introduction to lab components and a one-day five-person family pass to the Science Center.All Durango Public Library programs are free and open to the public.
