No student injuries reported
A Durango School District 9-R bus was rear-ended Thursday on Colorado Highway 172, near Elmore’s Corner. No children were reported to be injured.
A Durango School District 9-R bus was rear-ended Thursday afternoon by another vehicle during a routine bus stop on Colorado Highway 172, east of Durango.
All riders were presumed safe, and no injuries were reported, according to an emergency announcement made about 3:25 p.m. by the school district. As a precaution, all students were evaluated by paramedics at the scene, the district said.
A new bus was dispatched to the scene to transport all riders on the FM1 route to their stops. Students were expected to be about 30 minutes delayed from their normal schedules.
