Durango School District 9-R canceled classes for Wednesday as a result of “additional snow and continued hazardous road conditions.”

It is the second day in a row the school district has canceled classes. No classes were held Monday, either, because of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.

La Plata County government offices were also operating on a two-hour delay Wednesday as a result of overnight snow.

Durango received more than 2 feet of snow Sunday through Tuesday, turning area roads icy.

The school district planned to provide additional information later today about how snow days are impacting the remaining school year.
