All families are welcome to join their students at Thanksgiving meals, featuring local produce, at Durango School District schools.
Animas Valley will host its annual Turkey Trot and Thanksgiving lunch Wednesday. Kindergarteners through fifth-graders and their families will begin warming up for the Turkey Trot at 10:20 a.m. Kindergarteners through second-graders will run around the soccer field; third- to fifth-graders will run the length of the nature trail. Escalante Middle School will host its Thanksgiving meal Thursday. The lunch schedule will be sixth grade from 11:20 to 11:50 a.m., seventh grade from 11:50 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. and eighth grade from 12:20 to 12:50 p.m.Florida Mesa’s annual Thanksgiving lunch will be Thursday. Students will bring a flier home with information about purchasing tickets. Adult tickets are $5, grandparent tickets are $4 and non-student child tickets (3 years and older) are $3.Fort Lewis Mesa will hold its annual Turkey Trot and Thanksgiving meal with musical performances and food Thursday. Parents and students will meet in the gym at 10:15 a.m. for a musical performance, followed by the Turkey Trot and then dinner. Volunteers for the kitchen are needed to help serve, if you can help call Denise Herrera at 588-3331. Miller Middle School invites families to the Thanksgiving lunch Thursday. Sixth grade is at 10:55 a.m., seventh grade at noon, eighth grade at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for non-student children and $2.90 for students.Park Elementary will host its Thanksgiving meal Friday. Riverview Elementary will hosts its Thanksgiving meal Thursday.Sunnyside Elementary will host its Thanksgiving meal Thursday.
