Durango street projects ramping up in nice weather

Sunny skies are allowing Durango’s street department to tackle some road and sidewalk projects.

Construction of ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act started in May and is expected to be done by June 27, a news release said. The 89 ramps are located in various areas of the city.

Ramp construction in the Crestview neighborhood is scheduled for completion June 20. Construction in the Delwood neighborhood is expected to start June 23 and finish in four days.

Pavement reconstruction on parts of Montview Parkway should be done by June 27.

Asphalt surface treatment on Kearney Street and West Third, Highland and Glenisle avenues starts June 23 and should be finished by July 3.

Residents will likely see some parking restrictions and traffic interruptions during construction. No parking signs in work areas will be posted 24 hours in advance.
