Trail re-routes are planned for portions of Perins Gulch and Star Wars beginning Thursday.

Work will address erosion issues and create more sustainable trail alignment on Perins Gulch. The re-route of Star Wars will occur at the intersection with Perins Gulch. The re-route will improve safety at the intersection, address erosion issues and create more sustainable trail alignment.

Volunteers are invited to assist with Perins Gulch trail work July 14, and Star Wars on July 21. For more information about volunteering, visit www.durangotrails.org.

Trails and trailheads at Overend Mountain Park will remain open, but trail users should be aware of trail work in progress. Signs will be in place to notify trail users of work in the area.
