To limit the spread of COVID-19, and in compliance with Colorado’s Stay-At-Home Public Health Order, Durango Transit has implemented service adjustments.
Effective Saturday, there will be reduced weekend service. Saturday and Sunday Transit service will be reduced to on-the-hour service for all routes. Monday through Friday schedules remain the same, with service every 30 minutes. For an updated weekend schedule with bus stop times, visit www.DurangoGov.org/transit.
Each bus is now limited to a maximum capacity of six passengers on loop route buses and eight passengers on the Main Avenue Trolley. This reduces passenger capacity from the previous 10 passengers to further limit exposure between passengers and Transit operators.
People are asked to limit bus rides to only necessary travel as described in the Public Health Order. This includes travel to access medical needs, groceries or employment. Passengers who must travel out of necessity should practice social distancing.
San Juan Basin Public Health has recommended people cover their nose and mouth with a homemade face covering or bandana when in public to help reduce transmission of infection.
Passengers should not ride the bus if they are experiencing symptoms or think they might be sick. Passengers who display symptoms, do not adhere to social-distancing guidelines or are not complying with the Public Health Order’s definition of necessary travel, may be asked to get off the bus.
Durango Transit continues to take additional measures to keep vehicles clean and passengers healthy. All buses are cleaned daily with disinfectant. Staff members are wiping down seats, steering wheels, handles, buckles, stop request pull cords and other high-touch areas.
