Durango Welcome Center opens with limited hours, social-distancing measures

The Durango Welcome Center is now open with limited hours. The Welcome Center will serve visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays to Sundays, with social-distancing measures in place.

The city of Durango, La Plata County, San Juan Basin Public Health and business leaders have all been working together to protect the community and visitors, while reinventing many business sectors to reopen safely and effectively.

Phase 1 will include informational services, public restrooms and a water-filling station. Masks are required and other social-distancing measures and extra precautions are in place, from limiting the number of people and installing plexiglass sneeze guards, to hand-sanitizer stations and more.

Visit Durango urges responsible travel by promoting the Care for Durango principles. This includes promoting social distancing, wearing masks in public, frequent hand washing, staying home if sick and being respectful to the land, locals and other visitors.

Visit Durango’s mission is to promote visitation to Durango and La Plata County, drive economic impact and quality of life for residents, and support a positive visitor experience.
