Durangoans, all your wokeness is a sham

From mindful, tolerant and coexist bumper stickers to friendly Buddhas and prayer flags adorning yards and entry ways, to Crossfit-like obsession with yoga, Durango residents continue to contort, Americanize and embrace aspects of Eastern religion and philosophy.

If Karma were really taken seriously, if you wholeheartedly practiced what you blatantly claim to believe, I suspect there would be much more love, respect and kindness toward others and less selfish, entitled attitudes that currently pervade the community.

I serve hundreds of homes in and around Durango and as a fly on the wall, I’ve observed and been treated with ill intent by the self-proclaimed conscious crowd. By in large, it’s these individuals that boast with words and idols, yet their actions garner disappointment, disgust and shame.

On the flip side, the clients that are clearly conservative in their values have offered kindness beyond measure, even gratuities. So I ask you fellow residents of Durango, how is your spiritual elitism serving you?
