Temperatures in Durango dipped below zero early Monday, and are expected to do the same early Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The overnight low of minus 1 lasted for nearly an hour, from 6 a.m. to 6:50 a.m., weather service data show. And it was a cold night overall, with temperatures in the single digits starting about 9 p.m. Sunday.
It was cold Saturday night, too, with an overnight low of zero recorded beginning around 3:30 a.m. and continuing until around 6 a.m.
The weather service forecast calls for a daytime high Monday of 27 degrees, with minus 1 during the night.
But there’s no precipitation in the forecast until Thursday night and Friday, when there’s only a slight chance of snow. Otherwise, Durangoans should see plenty of sunshine this week.
Overnight temperatures should rise slightly on Tuesday and Wednesday, but are projected to be in the single digits.
