A Durango man was struck and killed by a car in a suburb of Grand Junction on Thursday, The Grand Junction Sentinel reported.
Thomas Artyom Huber, 19, of Durango was hit shortly before 11 p.m. as he attempted to cross the northbound lane of U.S. Interstate 70 Business Loop near the intersection with 32 Road, according to trooper Josh Lewis of the Colorado State Patrol.
Huber was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he died about 3 a.m., Lewis said. Next-of-kin have been notified.
“The cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death is accident,” the Mesa County Coroner’s Office ruled Friday.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Lewis said. The driver was not intoxicated and no citations were issued.
The investigation is still open, however, Lewis said.
