Apple Days Festival is set for Oct. 4
The 2015 Apple Days Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 4 at Buckley Park, on Main Avenue between 12th and 13th streets.
This free, all-ages festival celebrates the local apple harvest. Festival events will include: free apple and juice samples; apple juice pressing; kid activities and crafts; live local music from Stillwater Music and Robby Overfield; local food vendors, farmers and artists; educational activities and information from numerous local organizations; and a pie-eating contest.

Chimney Rock group earns state award
Chimney Rock Interpretive Association announces that it has received the 2015 Colorado Governor’s Tourism Award for Outstanding Community Tourism Initiative.
The association received this award in recognition of its excellence in the promotion of tourism in the Southwest region of the state; use of partnerships; creativity and innovation in the initiative and contribution to the local economy.
The association is a nonprofit organization that runs the daily operations and interpretive program at Chimney Rock National Monument in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the San Juan National Forest.
