Mini-grants can make trail work happen

In partnership with the city of Durango, Trails 2000 will offer mini-grants to community organizations for attending and promoting group trail-work projects.

As part of the city’s Community Support funding program, Trails 2000 was awarded an Outdoor Recreation block grant to encourage more volunteers to do trail work.

Community organizations are eligible for up to $250 grants if certain criteria are met.

Trails 2000’s program, Trail Kids, also is available to allocate grant funding to assist with transportation to the trailhead for Trail Kids’ participants. The program provides educational trail opportunities to local students.

Organizations can access the grant application at www.Trails2000.org/2015/04/mini-grant.

Applications will be accepted online only, and all applicant requirements must be met before submittal. Grants will be accepted throughout trail season and require 30-days notice before the proposed trail-work date.
