Cattle Growers to host convention
The Colorado Independent Cattle Growers Association will host its eighth annual convention July 19-20 in Sterling.
The convention will begin with a tour of the historic Chimney Canyon Grazing Association outside of Sterling, followed by a picnic dinner.
The events July 20 will include working group meetings and guest speakers, including Karen Moreau of the New York Petroleum Council, Bob Parker speaking about Agenda 21, and R-Calf chief executive officer Bill Bullard.
After the working sessions and speakers, there will be a social hour, banquet and auction.

Community garden to hold work day
Volunteers are needed at the Ohana Kuleana Community Garden, at 30th Street and East Sixth Avenue, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday to help prepare the garden berm that will one day be a permaculture food forest.
