A small structure fire broke out Saturday afternoon at a mobile home on Vista Linda Avenue near Highway 172 in east Durango.
The fire started at around 12:30 p.m. and was quickly doused in 15 minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to Durango Fire Protection District Deputy Fire Chief Randy Black.
Black said the fire started in a single wide mobile home, and the family who lived there was not at home when it began.
He said that neighbors discovered and reported the blaze, adding that nobody was inside the building while the structure was on fire.
Two engines, two ambulances, an emergency medical services vehicle and a battalion chief arrived on the scene to help put out the fire.
Black said he was unsure how many people lived in the unit, but it appeared to be a family.
