Health scholarships recipients announced

Southwestern Colorado Area Health Education Center announces that these scholars were chosen for the 2013 Health Professional Scholarship Program sponsored by The Colorado Health Foundation:

Emily Campbell (Durango) is pursuing a master’s degree in social work at the University of Denver, Graduate School of Social Work.

Maria Kallman (Silverton) is a graduate student studying to be a physician assistant at the University of Colorado.

Kate McGinley-West (Cortez) is studying to be a psychiatric nurse practitioner at the University of Colorado College of Nursing in Denver.

Scholarship winners must be enrolled in a nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant or behavioral health program, and agree to practice in a rural or underserved community for two years after graduation. Scholarship amounts are $15,000 per year for two years.
