Mountain Middle to host exhibition

Todd Macon’s Mountain Middle School sixth-grade humanities students will host a book-release party and “Alice in Wonderland” exhibition from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the ballroom at Fort Lewis College.

The students have analyzed Lewis Carroll’s books seeking “secret doors” or various literary devices, including theme, metaphor, symbol, allusion and allegory.

Inspired by Carroll’s imagination, the students have published an anthology of their own writings, which will be for sale at the event.

In addition, each student has created a personal project that reflects his or her sense of Alice’s adventures.
