Stillwater Music’s second summer session will begin July 11.
Children and adults of any level of musical experience can register for a variety of one-week camps and classes.
Camps for kids include Introductory Percussion, Steel Drum Band and Blues Camp with Kirk James. Band classes for elementary, middle and high school students will meet twice weekly.
Classes for adults and young people 11 and older include Community Samba Band and a songwriting workshop with Robby Overfield.
Adult offerings include a number of bands playing music in styles such as rock, soul and funk, jazz, blues, and an a cappella vocal ensemble.

Lindsey Jankowski, a 2011 graduate of Durango High School, recently earned her Master’s of Science degree in biomedical science from Colorado State University.
Lindsey is the daughter of Sue Weber and Paul Jankowski.
Two organizations are seeking applicants to host foreign exchange students for the 2016-17 academic year.
The Educational Merit Foundation for Student Exchange is accepting applications for volunteer host families. Host families will open their homes to a student, age 15-18, from Germany or Spain. Exchange students will attend a local high school for the duration of their stay.
Host family applicants undergo a screening process to ensure they are suited for an exchange experience. To be eligible to host, one adult in the household must be at least 25 years old. The foundation is a nonprofit organization and is designated by the U.S. Department of State as an Exchange Program Sponsor.

The Counsel on International Educational Exchanging is also seeking host families in Durango and the surrounding area.
The international high school students the group is seeking to place have high grades, participate in various sports and activities and many can cook their own cultural food.

About 50 students recently graduated from GOAL Academy High School at a ceremony in Pagosa Springs.
The school serves many high-risk students in its 32 Colorado locations and is the largest alternative education campus in the state.
GOAL is preparing for another academic year and is committed to serving a growing number of students. The organization is enrolling current and new students for the 2016-17 school year.
