Schertz named to dean’s list in Golden

Evan Schertz, 2015 Durango High School graduate, has been named to the dean’s list for his academic achievement at Colorado School of Mines in Golden. Schertz is a freshman mechanical engineering student.

Durangoan plays in steel drum band

Hannah Robertson of Durango participated in Cornell College’s Pandemonium steel drum band, Calypso Singers, and Calypso horns tour to New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

The 30-student contingent played their way down St. Charles Avenue in a float during four parades seen by more than a million people.

FLC students studied abroad

Durango: Levi Kurlander of Durango at University of Alicante in Alicante, Spain; and Stephanie Pena of Durango at University of the Basque Country in Bilbao, Spain.

Pagosa Springs: D. Eric Bean at Rang-Jung Yeshe Institute in Boudhanath, Nepal.
