FLC students become certified tutors
These students have been certified as CRLA Tutors at Fort Lewis College:
Alex Hofmann of Durango achieved certification as a CRLA Level I Tutor for the Native American Center.
Gloria Sharlein of Durango achieved certification as a CRLA Level II Tutor for the Algebra Alcove.
Locals compete in Skills USA competition
The teams from Bayfield, Durango, Dolores and Pagosa Springs high schools recently competed at the Skills USA State Championships hosted by Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs.
Many of the students qualified to continue to the National Championships, which will take place in June in Kansas City, Mo. Nationals qualifiers and state placers are:
Cabinet making: First-place, Connor Y. of Durango High School and second-place Cody D. of Bayfield High School.
Computer programming: First-place Jessie R. of Pagosa Springs High School.
CSI: First-place Cody C., Jacob F., and McKenna M. of Pagosa Springs High School.
