Nicoll Hunt joins sustainability team
Nicoll Hunt of Pagosa Springs was selected to be a member of the Campus Sustainability Team at Fort Lewis College’s Environmental Center.
Hunt’s major is environmental studies. The center’s Sustainability Team seeks to engage the FLC community in actions to improve the overall sustainability of the campus.
The team works with students, the FLC Physical Plant, faculty and staff members to focus attention on issues such as energy and water use, green purchasing, alternative transportation options and personal health and wellness. The team also runs events and other programming such as the Sustainability Summit.
The center works to connect students to opportunities to create change. Each year, the center selects student leaders through a competitive application process. Selected students work on small teams in a nonprofit like setting to address the critical environmental and social issues facing the world.
