Fort Lewis College employee Lindsay Reichert-Noisom personally delivered and donated the books to the center April 23. Reichert-Noisom asked World Book Night U.S. to delivers the books to host location Maria’s Bookshop.

El Centro coordinator Shirena Trujillo Long and student Manuel Chavarria accepted the donations at the center to commemorate the first time El Centro has been a part of World Book Night.

The organization plans to distribute the books to Spanish speakers in the community with Club del Centro in the fall semester. The first copy went to Manuel and his mother, who both have heard of the award-winning novel but have never read the book.
