Johansson

Tavis Johansson receives degree

Tavis Johansson (Johnson), a former Durango resident from 2001 to 2009 and a 2006 graduate of Fort Lewis College where he studied pre-health and alternative thought, has recently graduated from the University of Western States in Portland, Ore., as a doctor of chiropractic.

Johansson is setting up a practice in Portland with the Vital Health and Wellness Clinic.

Local students named to honor society

These local students were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Membership is by invitation only to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and 7.5 percent of juniors. Faculty, professional staff members and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction also qualify.
