BES honors students

Bayfield Elementary School honored its students last week with American Citizenship Awards and presidential academic awards.

The 2015 American Citizenship students are:

Second grade: Nichole Cuellar, Trace Crane, Ella May Chamblee, Kingston Martinez, Lily Muir, Porter Sutherland, Mariah Jansen, Trystyn Vavrina, Jordan Lott, Tristan Bennett.

Third grade: Tatum Meyer, Hunter Ferrell, Andralyn Fraga, Chris Frazee, Bridelle Maxwell, Issac Forsythe, Anna Vaughn, Hunter Mars, Aleaha Ribera, Brendan Heydinger.

Fourth grade: Rachel Sandberg, Teryk Webber, Ashley Farnum, Katie Killinen, Sydney Schuman, Preston Gomez, Claire Sarnow, Brad Foutz.

Fifth grade: Graylin Furlong, Bryan Wood, Freya Underwood, Alex Sears, Abria Thayer, Donald Ledvina, Adi Hooks, Andrew Russell.

The Presidential Award for significant academic achievement in fifth grade was awarded to Dylan Grimes, Cassandra Haisman, Tonya Hiatt, Daniel Schneider and Warran Smith.

The Presidential Award for academic excellence went to fifth graders who had a 90 percent or higher GPS in fourth and fifth grade. It was awarded to Kyra Caselles, Emily Deming, Lainey Kopf, Donald Ledvina, Max Meyers, Helen Rodstrom, Chloe Sarnow, Nathan Sears, McKella Shoup, Bailey Smith and Abria Thayer.

Local students named to dean's list at Fort Lewis College

The following area students were named to Fort Lewis College's dean's list for the spring 2016 semester. These students took at least 15 credits of gradable hours and achieved a 3.60 or higher grade point average. They are listed with their majors.

Semler makes president's list

STERLING - Northeastern Junior College has released its honor roll list for the 2016 spring semester and reports that 214 full-time students were given high academic achievement recognition, including 68 students who made the president's list by earning a 4.0 grade point average. Those making the president's list include Michael Semler of Bayfield.
