ROLLA, Mo. - Missouri University of Science and Technology announces the names of students who made the honor list for the spring 2018 semester, including Matthew Knickerbocker, a senior majoring in petroleum engineering.
To be included on the honor list, students must have carried a minimum of 12 hours and had grade point averages of 3.2 or above out of a possible 4.0.
Founded in 1870 as the University of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is a research university of more than 8,800 students and part of the four-campus University of Missouri System.
Dustin Mangus of Ignacio participated in Fort Lewis College's Village Aid Project in May 2018. Mangus's major is Engineering.
Local students, community members, and faculty participated in a Village Aid Project in Myanmar in May 2018. The team implemented a new water system in the village of Than Taung, population 260, in the Shan State of Myanmar, conducted monitoring and evaluation in five Myanmar communities where water systems were implemented in prior years, and assessed new communities for water implementation projects in the summer of 2019. The team lived and worked with villagers in their community for 15 days constructing the water system and communal taps.
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Durango Lodge #507 is proud to announce the recipients of seven Lodge scholarships for $1,000.
Zenn Roberts, Bayfield High School; John Valdez, Ignacio High School; SheaLyn Baca, Robert Reiter and Sadie McAliney, Durango High School; Keanan Anderson, Pagosa Springs High School; and Lily Bisantz from Animas High School received a $1,000 grant made possible by the Elks National Foundation through the Colorado Elks Association.
MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - Cornell College named 231 students to its dean's list for the spring 2018 semester, including Colter McMenimen of Bayfield. Students must earn a minimum of a 3.6 GPA for the semester to be honored.
Cornell College is a national liberal arts college with a distinctive curriculum. Students take one class for 18 days, which provides students the chance to dive into their studies and focus more intensely on the classes of their choice.
