Lately, it seems like no one can catch Bayfield High School cross country runner Eva-Lou Edwards.
She won the Anna Bannana Memorial Wildcat Invitational in 18 minutes, 22.3 seconds, putting her 45 seconds in front of her nearest competitor. Edwards won her fourth meet this season and is 4-for-4 for the season.
Aubree Lorenzen took 19th in 20:32.3 as the only other BHS girls representative.
Trevor Gabbard came in fifth in 16:25.60 to lead the BHS boys team.
Luke Webb was ninth in 16:44, Alex Knight 64th in 18:56.1 and Justis Hererra 90th in 20:18.4.
Palisade’s Jake Erickson finished first in the boys race in 15:48.2.
The Wolverines were not scored as a team in either the boys or girls race.
Grand Junction won the boys’ meet, while Hotchkiss took first in the girls meet.
The Wolverines next will compete at the Cortez Invite on Saturday.
