Winning streaks don’t happen often in running, but Bayfield High School’s Eva-Lou Edwards is bucking that trend.

Bridget Goddard was 14th in 22:29, Lexa Fleming 19th in 23:24, Danielle Miller 23rd in 24:08 and Maggie Zink 32nd in 25:04.

The Bayfield girls team took second place in the meet.

Luke Webb took fourth in the boys race at 17:53, Alex Knight 29th in 20:02 and Caleb Sapa 30th in 20:03. Justis Hererra finished in 22:11, Joey Sandrey in 23:02 and Alex Svanes in 24:00; their places were not available according to an email from BHS first-year cross country coach Josh Walton to The Durango Herald.

The Wolverines will split their team next weekend; some will run in Mancos, while others will travel for the Anna Bannana Invitational in Grand Junction.
