In order to make the ground-based missile defense system effective against attacks by North Korea, Iran or whomever, we should probably have rigorous Congressional oversight. At the very least, we should work on the performance of small thrusters attached to the interceptors and we should have rigorous testing on those interceptors.
If money is a problem — like if other countries stop lending to us — we can eliminate some of our nuclear weapons to the extent we don’t compromise national security or increase unemployment. If need be, we can impose 10 percent higher taxes on the top 5 percent who control a quarter of the GDP.
