Eight Corners intersection in Bayfield to close for repairs

Parkway closed starting Monday
Bayfield public works and a third-party contractor set up a crane to put steel plates at the intersection of County Road 501 and Bayfield Parkway in August. The section of road will be closed to make repairs Monday through Wednesday.

A section of the Eight Corners intersection in Bayfield will be closed Monday through Wednesday for road repairs.

Motorists should consider alternative travel plans around the intersection at County Road 521 and Bayfield Parkway. Detours will route traffic through Mill Street, Fox Farm Village and the South Mesa Avenue neighborhood. Construction will start around 8:30 a.m. Monday and last through 5 p.m. Wednesday or earlier.

The intersection will be closed to both westbound and eastbound traffic on Bayfield Parkway.

Drivers traveling north from County Road 521/Buck Highway will detour around the intersection. If traveling eastbound, drivers will turn onto Mars Road then reconnect with the parkway through South Mesa Avenue. If heading westbound from Buck Highway, drivers will detour through Mill Street to reconnect to Bayfield Parkway.

Steel plates have kept the parts of Bayfield Parkway stable since mid-August as intruding water damaged the road. The repairs will replace the damaged subgrade and asphalt at the intersection.
