El Pomar Foundation approves grant to Community Connections, Inc.

On June 4, the Trustees of the El Pomar Foundation announced that Community Connections was approved for a $5,000 general operating grant.

Community Connections was founded in 1985 to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southwest Colorado. Community Connections operates offices in Durango and Cortez and serves people with intellectual disabilities throughout Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma and San Juan Counties. El Pomar Foundation was founded in 1937 by Spencer and Julie Penrose. The Foundation now contributes more than $22 million annually through grants and community stewardship programs to support Colorado nonprofit organizations involved in health, human services, education, arts and humanities and civic and community initiatives.
