As human population increases, problems will come faster and bigger. For too long our country and the world lacks leadership to solve problems. Whether our children live in Syria or Chicago, it blows my mind to know they are exposed to gross atrocities that put modern society to shame every day.
I’m an American patriot with a broken heart. Our country is a mess. We are a debtor nation, our economy is weak. Our people are divided, distrustful and angry. Drug use and families in poverty are a disgrace. Law and order is under siege. Some words are overused; today, everyone is phobic, hateful and racist. Brutal politics has decent people hiding in the closet.
The Durango Herald has published all that can be said negative about Donald Trump. Amid the name calling, you have bolstered my courage to say something positive.
I have kept my finger on Trump’s pulse the entire campaign season. His heart is in the right place. I agree with his priorities for our country. We share the same pet peeve – stupidity.
Trump is a larger-than-life transparent figure, an imperfect person. He is a successful international businessman with a can-do attitude. The man is a workaholic who sleeps little, doesn’t smoke, drink alcohol or do drugs. He is proud of his talented and stylish family.
Trump donated his money to operate an efficient, effective campaign. He has minimized powerful career politicians and special interest groups, business and media elites. He gives voice to a populist movement that will redefine the Republican Party. I do trust this dealmaker will motivate Congress to better serve the American people.
The first woman president of the United States should bring integrity to the office to the highest level. Hillary Clinton is not that woman. Clouded in suspicion, Clinton brings distraction to the office. We can do better, ladies.
