Durango has been blessed with forward-thinking leadership over the years, and that leadership has helped make this smaller community a beacon for other communities all over this great state.
Leadership that ensured that our railroad would continue to operate, that Fort Lewis College be moved from Hesperus into town, and that many other worthwhile projects were brought to fruition and made instrumental in our community’s success. Because of determined men and women inserting themselves into the community-service arena, we are blessed to live here.
It is with this thought process that I strongly encourage the voters of Durango to cast their vote for Melissa Youssef for City Council in the April election. Her election will ensure that the council will address the many pressing issues in a reasonable and thoughtful manner.
Her extensive community service, including leadership on several key boards, has been beneficial to the maintenance of the high quality of life we have all sought and enjoyed as residents. A vote for Melissa will be a vote to continue this desirable quality of life.
