It’s Election Day in the city of Durango.
Ballots are due to the City Clerk’s office by 7 p.m., which is open to accept ballots or in-person voting 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. The office is in City Hall, 949 East Second Ave.
Ballots also can be dropped off at the La Plata County Clerk’s Office, 98 Everett St., Suite C, in Bodo Industrial Park.
Voters have only a couple of things to decide, but the election was on pace last week for a record turnout based on returned ballots.
Voters were asked to choose from five candidates running for three seats on City Council. The candidates are incumbent Dean Brookie and Melissa Youssef, Tom Eskew, Chris Bettin and Dave McHenry.
They also are deciding whether to keep fluoride in the drinking water. A vote “for the ordinance” would removed fluoride and a “vote against the ordinance” would retain it.
Residents voting in person should bring identification to allow the clerk’s office to verify that they are registered.
