Raelynn Healy Elkins was named 2014 Citizen of the Year by the Vallecito Service League at their annual installation banquet on Sept. 13 at the Vallecito Lake Event Center. In a proud moment for the family, she was presented with the plaque by her parents, Rolland and Diane Healy, two of the 2010 Citizens of the Year and owners of the Vallecito Lake Country Market where Raelynn works.
The theme of this year's banquet was the Kentucky Derby, and the hats and the horse races were great. Everyone enjoyed appetizers and dinner. Outgoing officers and committee chairs were thanked by President Paula Millar, and new officers installed. Prizes were awarded for decorated tables, hat designers, and jockeys, so that a good time was had by all.
