Durango Elks Lodge distributed a total of $19,500 to recently graduated high school seniors during its scholarship ceremony May 17.
The lodge directly funded $6,500 in scholarships for these students:
Cameron Flann, Animas High School, received $800; Jessica Weinmeister, Bayfield High School, received $850; Taylor Morris, Bayfield High School, received $750; Ivy Kirwan, Durango High School, received $800; Leslie Hall-Lobato, Durango High School, received $800; Naomi Huffman-Wood, Durango High School, received $750; Maizey Funk, Durango Big Picture High School, received $500; Bryan Gram, Ignacio High School, received $750; Meghan Manzanares, Pagosa Springs High School, received $500.
These students were awarded scholarships applied for through the lodge and funded by other entities:
Layne Clements, Durango High School, received $1,000 from the Colorado Elks Association Scholarship Grant; Jenna Engelken, Durango High School, received $8,000 from the Colorado Grand Scholarship; Rashel Korte, home-schooled, received $4,000 from the Elks National Foundation Scholarship.
